I was also wondering about that.  As I recall, is it on the page where it says "DHCP" enabled? I was wondering if you need to disable DHCP to be able disable DNS relay and I wasn't sure if I wanted to do that at this time.

I was expecting a call back from the L3 tech but did not receive one (holiday maybe)...

I'm calling them back now and will report back.  For now I would NOT upgrade to this firmware!!!

Update; the support person (via email) changed their mind when I asked 'are you sure?' (twice) and I suggested that if the router became unusable as a result of trying to downgrade that I would expect a replacement.

I was told by an L3 tech yesterday that this is a common issue and they had a meeting (scheduled shortly after my call) to discuss with mgmt what to do about this.  I haven't heard back yet from L3 tech.

Did you get a case ID? or a technicians name?

You have to disable advanced DNS to disable DNS relay

Support is a joke; the diag process the specialist walked me through was to change my computer to some made-up static IP, then reset the router and then change the router address to another made-up IP.  The router and computer IP addresses where in 2 different subnets so of coarse the computer wouldn't connect to the router after that but the tech 'knew what he was doing" and continued to tell me so even though I tried to explain to him the issue with his configuration.

Well, in the end I am getting a replacement router from Dlink and hopefully they don't load the 1.11 firmware.

Yes, I have a case ID; do you want it and sent where?

Over 4 days with DNS relay disabled and so far no hang-ups or slowness.  With DNS relay on I couldn' usually make it 2 days.

I'm having this problem right at this moment. Some web pages fail or are taking a really long time to load. Also, I can't log into my router or I can log in but I can't navigate any of it's settings. This also happened last night within the past 12 hours and also once about a week ago for the first time. Since it's happening more frequently, I decided to write about it. I'm new to all this and I'm not sure what's going on, but pulling the power chord fixes it. I'm using the latest firmware.

Dlink,

Please address this issue as there are many of us with this problem and it is becoming very annoying that our networks that we manage are going down because of this.

Same issue here.  Router was upgraded to 1.11NA perfectly.  Settings were uploaded and everything is fine for about 2 days.  Then the router locks up and is unresponsive.  Have to pull power to reset it as it won't allow me to login.  This happens about every 2 days.  PLEASE FIX THIS D-LINK ASAP!!  MAJOR SHOWSTOPPING BUG IN 1.11NA FIRMWARE!!

After finding and reading all these reports of problems with the new firmware updates (that you cannot back off to older firmware versions) I am deeply saddened and maddened after buying Dlink DIR-825 A1 and Dlink DIR-655 A4 units.  They work just okay with the old firmware out of the box.  But to get the new features and fixes, introduces new bugs and problems.  So that is terrible indeed and frustrating to all Dlink customers.  How do they stay in business and keep selling stuff like this to the masses!  (I am not picking on Dlink here, it is the same with all of the other major and minor router maker brands too!)

It is the quality of the help to develope and maintain the firmware code as well as the quality of the marketing decision makers to push and release garbage before it is ready for prime time.  Sad state of greedy affairs brings the whole world down.

This is my first D-Link product. It hasn't been too long since they released v1.11 and I can patiently wait a little longer for the next release. Hopefully, they're taking their time to properly fix these problems.

Same problem here, too, with DIR-825 A1 and firmware 1.11.

Prior to this firmware, I never had to reboot the router, but now it stops working after a couple of days and I have to reset it physically to get it working again. I can't access the admin page via IP address to do it remotely when this happens.

I am using DNS relay and I did reload my config settings after firmware upgrade (rather than config from scratch).

This is absurd.  I received an RMA ID, but I have a SIMPLE question about the stupid process. They require proof of purchase, well, I bought my 825 from the now defunct Circuit City and don't have my receipt. I can't get through to the RMA department, I've waited on hold a cumulative of about 1 hour, been disconnected 4 times through the automated garbage and hung up on twice by actual RMA specialists.  Both times, they took my RMA ID and then put me on hold, where I was disconnected AGAIN.  It is really difficult for me not to start cussing up a storm.  I called the number AGAIN, and hit option 3 for RMA, and 1 to speak to a specialist.  I was on hold for another 5 minutes, then it was completely silent for another 10.  For some reason, it then went through a list of options that were completely irrelevant to the options and then I was transferred to TECH SUPPORT!  What the h**l is wrong with the DLink phone system?  That dude told me to call the number for the 1000th time, hit 3, then 1, and be transferred to an extension, why the heck can't I punch in the extension instead of waiting on hold AGAIN!?

I apologize for ranting but this is just ridiculous.

edit: thanks for contacting me so quickly Lycan.
