Would be rather hard for me, since the router is downstairs, where we have guests throughout the day (it's a little restaurant).

Internet works fine, but it is like before.

Random downtimes, everytime I experience such a lagg, I ping my router via cmd, and then I ping the google servers.

Today I lagged and pinged my router, and had pings between 40-1400 with timeouts.
Then when that was stable again, I pinged the google.de servers. And the ping there was stable at 30.

There might be a problem with the surroundings of my router or my router in generall, I am not sure since my internet was fine not so long ago.

Router Placement
Forum User - "Well I feel really dumb. After moving the router away from other electronic devices my speeds are back to normal. Just a heads up for anyone experiencing slow speeds, you might want to move it away from other electronics and see if that helps."
6" minimum safe distance between devices.

I would start by turning everything OFF. Test with only 1 device at a time. Find the time frames on when you seem to experience this lag and test with 1 device. PC or otherwise. Could be something on the LAN side causing this.

Do you have any close friends or family that you could test this router out at there place by chance? Would like to know if the problem follows.

I highly suspect it might be due to my LAN connection or the router.
As you have seen in our Teamviewer session, my speed varied alot, even when being connected via Lan!

I will see who I can ask to test it. Ty

Little sidenote:
We might move soon, or rather build a house. So I guess I can endure this for now and wait abit.
(unless my internet starts to srsly die hard xD)

Another question, I can't log into my router, there is no username given (I set a new PW)...
So I tried 'admin' as Admin, admin, ADMIN etc.
But I can't log in

Web Browser Configurations
What browser are you using?
Try Opera or FF? If IE 8, 9 or 10, set compatibility mode and test again.
Disable any security browser Add-ons like No Script and Ad-Block or configure them to allow All Pages when connected to the router.
Try turning off these features in Chrome:
Top right corner, little bars for options > Settings > Settings (on left) > Show advanced settings.
Uncheck these:
Use a web service to help resolve navigation errors
Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar
Predict network actions to improve page load performance
Enable phishing and malware protection

3rd Party Security Software Configurations
  • Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic.

Since the laggs became even more ******ed, I did another reset and now I see something suspicious:

this is the PC I am connected with to the router, the other one, which is standing right next to the router has 11g, but this one has 11b

My settings only allow 11g or 11n, tho...
