1522 as an access point?
« on: May 25, 2009, 11:54:29 AM »

I currently have a DGL-4500 hooked up to my Cable Modem in my bedroom.

As there are quite a few walls in the way, I get very poor wireless reception in my living room.

I ran an ethernet cable from the 4500 in the bedroom into my living room.

I would like to connect the ethernet cable to an access point(?) ???    in order to provide good wireless access in my living room.

Will the 1522 do this for me?  Do I have my terminology correct, is it an Access Point  I am looking for?

TIA

Yes, connected via ethernet it will run as access point in 2,4 or 5 GHz.
And if you only need it in your living room, it is more than sufficient.

Thank you... what is confusing me, I guess, is where would I plug the Ethernet cable into?  I do not see a WLAN or Uplink port, only 1,2,3,4... ?

Just use the first Port, though it is only a switch so it shouldn't matter which port you use.
