Raid type?
« on: January 05, 2014, 07:43:25 AM »

Dear  users, I'm going to buy a dns-320 but I have a last question:

I want to use it with 2 mirrored hd. Does the nas use an hardware raid or the linux soft raid? In second case, in case of hardware crash I will be able easily to recover data. Otherwise ... bonjour!

Are you looking at the DNS-320 or DNS-320L? In both cases, the units use software RAID. In the event of a hardware crash there is third-party software that ShareCenter owners used to mount the HDDs in a Windows PC and recover data. DNS-320L - Data Recovery (Windows PC)
