How Long For Email To Be Received Sent From Router.
« on: January 07, 2014, 10:53:00 AM »

After some trial and error, got the router to successfully send log emails. At least the log says it was successfully sent.

I believe I read where it can take up to 48 hrs. to receive the email . Both of my accounts are working but I have yet to receive my log email. It hasn't been long, maybe an hour, but I sent and received test emails just to be sure everything was okay with my accounts. They are working fine.

Does it take longer than a typical email ?

Thanks.

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

Based on the traversing of the email once it hits your ISP then thru all the networking and if your sending to a different ISP or just back to the same, shouldn't take more than ~3 to 5 minutes...

Have you tried different recipient email addresses?

Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations
  • What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
  • What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?
  • What ISP Modem service link speeds UP and Down do you have?

Ensure you are checking the Junk folder?

Does your ISP email services required a TLA/TLS encryption on there email servers when you send emails using there email system? If so, I don't think these routers support that feature. We've seen issue where some ISPs are using a account and server encryption that these routers don't seem to work well. I noticed this when my ISP went from using the standard POP port 25 email with just user name and PW to Googles based email system that uses this TLA/TLS encryption.  >:( My router stopped sending emails after this and I have up using it. I did let D-Link know about this a while back and never heard anything about it.

You might phone contact D-Link support and ask for level 2 or higher support and talk to them about this.

Yeah, I am not sure whats up . It is web based email. Might be encrypted or
something. I'm going to change the destination directly to my gmail account and see if that works.

I will update later.

Thank you.
