How frequent are the updates?
« on: February 08, 2014, 09:59:44 AM »

I've got a Playstation 4 and it does not register as a Playstation 4 nor does it have an icon.

When I play battlefield 4 on the ps4 it shows up as general traffic and not as the game.

When I play Call of Duty Ghosts on the other hand it works.

So how often are games and applications added to the "cloud" and when can I expect the router to detect one of the most popular FPS games on the console right now?

Hi.

I'm not sure on the hardware revision. I'm unable to physically get to the device.

I did download the latest beta firmware for it last night.

I live in Oklahoma USA

SB updates are done every so often...behind the scenes. Let us know how the beta FW update works for you...

The beta firmware and the Playstation Vita do not play nice with each other.  I had to revert to 1.10 to get everything working.

So far it seems to be working as it should with exception to the game detection on the Playstation 4.

Battlefield 4 still refuses to detect on the Playstation. However Call of Duty detects and works as it should.

Even when I set the playstation console to top priority I still receive lots of lag if the connection is being stressed.

There really is no way for me to add bf4 to my streamboost manually. It would be nice to have some local control over the apps and priority in future updates.  Or perhaps a page listing all the officially supported applications and a place to make suggestions. Right now it feels like we are all in the dark on when these things are going to start working as advertised.

Done, thanks.

I did notice that today after reverting the firmware suddenly bf4 is being detected. It does not have the bf4 icon like it does when i launch the game on my pc though so i'm not sure how it's prioritizing the traffic just yet.

So that's hopeful that it will start working.

Nevermind, the 2nd time I played bf4 it did not detect, however it was playable just occasional lag spikes.

Streamboost Enabled
Auto Bandwidth Estimation is on
Yes, opt in to updates.

so far the bandwidth estimates have been pretty accurate for the most part.

The only issues I've been running into seem to be the fact that the router simply does not detect that I'm running a game and treats it like "web data"

Are you playing BF4 on PC or game console?

At the moment it's console on the playstation 4.

The one time I launched the game on my PC i believe it detected right away.

I'm guessing the console version uses a different range of ports or something.

From what I know there is some Sony/D-Link issues that are going on thus could be a reason why PS game consoles are not appearing correctly.

I would be patient to see what the next FW release does to see if PS is correctly identified by SB.

Ain't got much of a choice really now do I? :P

I've got everything 99 percent working at this point.

If they could just continue to improve streamboost that would be great. I would hate for this to be the boxee box all over again. (wasted 200 bucks on it and dlink pretty much dropped support the following week)

When did you get the Boxee?

FYI, the Boxee Box project was sold to Samsung I believe. There are other sites to support the boxee now.

I believe that Sony/D-Link and Qualcomm are all involved when it comes to SB and how it's being developed. Please be patient.
