Not a problem :)

I am using smtp.att.yahoo.com and smtp.gmail.com

Both servers support SSL and alternate ports 465 and 587. The att.yahoo server resolves in the D-Link logs, but fails sending the message.

The Google server reports these two errors:

[WARN]   Fri Jun 12 08:39:19 2009   SMTP client failed to send email
[WARN]   Fri Jun 12 08:39:19 2009   SMTP failed during sender/recipient dialog

That ATT server only reports back with:

[WARN]   Fri Jun 12 02:24:47 2009   SMTP client failed to send email

I'm guessing that the D-Link is having a problem with the SSL part of the conversation. Entourage, Outlook, and Apple Mail all work fine.

DCFIRTHS, I found this entry in the DNS-323 forum from RWS8258 and he/she got it to work. Hope it works for you. Let us know.

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, that's the [one] way I have it setup, and it's not working.

I am able to get it to work on the Verizon/Yahoo! servers, but there is no SSL on these mail servers. This is very confusing as the person, in the link you provided, is using the Google servers which do require SSL  ???

Can you get outlook express to work on those Yahoo SMTP servers ?  If so, use those settings for the DIR email setups.

I have my email go thru my comcast.net account and forward to my AOL email....it usually works quite nicely.  Occasionally I get screw ups but I attribute them to comcast, not the router's email functions.

All of the server and log on settings I use in my email client (currently Entourage) work fine. All of the servers require SSL.

The only time I get failures are through the 655 when trying to send through a server that requires SSL.

You mentioned Verizon/Yahoo. Is Verizon your ISP? If so, don't you have a Verizon (not Verizon/Yahoo) email account? If you do, Verizon email will work.

Verizon is my ISP, but the account is linked to the "Yahoo! experience", and that means that I am assigned to the Verizon/Yahoo! email servers. The "send log" feature does work with this account, but there is no SSL.

Verizon doesn't support SSL at all for email - even on the verizon.net email servers. I frequently check email from outside of the Verizon network, and I don't like to send my password in-the-clear. Even if I am on the Verizon network (at home) I don't even trust sending my password, without SSL.

Also, I have had my email accounts too long to start using a new ones :)

Since the Gmail email servers use SSL, I don't understand how other people have gotten it to work  ???

OK, ok, I wasn't listening. I kept seeing you mention SSL but it wasn't getting through. I understand your desire for security and now that I understand what you are looking for, all I can offer is a dumb look. uhh... :-\
