Video libary - no folders display
« on: June 15, 2014, 12:16:33 PM »

Hey guys,

I have purchased the "DNS-320L" a few days ago and trying to feed it with some files (mainly video and music files). I already set up the Multimedia Settings Application and activated UPNP AV. Now I'm able to watch video files and listen to my music on my smartphone / PS3. But I have a little problem with the folder structure of my Video libary. When I try to watch a movie on my PS3 it shows me always 3 subfolders "Video/Photo/Music". When I go to "Video" and select "Show all files" I can see my entire libary of video files. But when I try to select "Show Folders" it tells me that there are no elements found. Now this makes it a little hard for me to browse through my movies.

On the other hand when I select "Music" and then go to "Folders" it will show me all subfolders I have created for my music libary. So can someone please tell me how I can see the subfolders for my video libary on my PS3 / Smartphone? Thank you in advance!

Best regards

Hello Finalzero,

I am currently having similar problems with the folder view structure on both my TV in one room and the Xbox in another since I refreshed the Multimedia Share Settings on my 320L. In my case, they now both show nothing under Folders, though under All Files they will show every single video in an exhaustive list, making browsing a pain. Though I can view music via artist or album, this is also a real pain as there are hundreds of both and probably wouldn't result in a "thinking about it" screen for ages (reading ...  reading ...) if I could see and select the folders that I filed them under.

I have had my 320L for a few months and it was streaming to all (TV, Xbox, PCs) fine until I began to add music folders to the shares. I have no idea why -  pretty lame if you cannot even update/refresh the device without causing problems...

Did you find a solution to your folder problem? I see that there have been plenty of views of this thread though nobody has offered a remedy yet...

The only solution is FFP or alt-f software. The original firmware is full of bugs, and no one develop it. Even D-Link.

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under the router case.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded?
  • What region are you located?

Need to check with the Mfr of the TV to see what file and folder structure they support. There are many file types and not all Mfrs support them all.

Did you guys find a solution to this?
