What D-Link model product do you have sir?

I would also recommend that you phone contact the Nook Mfr and ask for support and information regarding use of there products as well.

Thank you for answering my question and I apologize for not getting back to you...I am not a guy I am a grandma...I do all the computer stuff because I guy isn't into computers...when something goes wrong I usually try to fix it but this thing with the Nook has me stumped and frustrated...I've tried what has been suggested and went back to help@dlink.com for product: DIR-615 and the message they sent me telling me they couldn't help and I should contact their technical support team but when I contacted them it was a site that charges for answers and even if they don't give you a right answer you pay for 30 minutes at a time and I couldn't see getting into it when I had no idea how much I would owe them and they wanted a credit card up-front...I'm not even sure now but I finally got a screen that had the place to put the username and the password and I filled it out like it said but instead of letting me put in a password it just kept asking for the password...we have two Nooks and mine is still working and I've tried to compare the two but I still can't figure it out...my guy reads a lot of books and he had just bought 3 e-books and they try to load into the Nook but they can't and we've already paid for them...does anything I'm saying tell you what is happening???  Do you think you may be able to help me...my guy is about ready to throw the Nook in the trash but right now he's reading "paper books"...thanks for any help you can give us...!!!

Do you mean DIR-615 or DIR-615E3??  There isn't anything on the front of the router, top of the router or the bottom of the router that says Model number#...at least I can't find anything and in my 2 messages prior to this one I've written most everything that is on the router...hope it's what you need...???

  • Ensure the default (dlink) SSID name is changed on the router. Can be anything and not something that's already in use by any neighboring WiFi routers. Under Setup/Wireless/Manual.
  • What wireless modes are you using on the router? See next line below
  • 2.4Ghz Routers only: Try single mode G or N or mixed G and N?
  • Channel Width set for Auto 20/40Mhz or try 20Mhz only.
  • Try setting a manual Channel to a open or unused channel. 1, 6 or 11. 11 for single mode N if the channel is clear. 13 for EU regions.
  • What security mode are you using? Preferred security is WPA-Personal. WPA2/AES Only. Some WiFi adapters don't support AES, so you might want to try TPIK only or Auto TPIK and AES.

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email. I would recommend finding a computer shop or electronics facility and have someone come to your house and help you directly with this router and your Nook Devcies.

Let us know how it goes please.
