Samsung UN65H7150 Causing WiFi issues
« on: June 21, 2014, 09:22:07 AM »

Hello all,

We recently added a Samsung UN65H7150 to the mix.  Unfortunately, when this HDTV is connected over WiFi, it makes our Samsung Galaxy smartphones (S3 and S4 respectively) drop connection.  They drop, reconnect themselves, and drop again.  This continues forever until I turn the Samsung HDTVs WiFi off.

Any suggestions?  I was on the phone with Dlink and we went through the motions of resetting everything on the router and using other channels.  It did not work and I do have a support ticket number.

What Firmware version do you have?
Beta version 1.12 seems better and more stable!
I would try turning off password protection and try connecting the devices.
Not a solution just a place to start.
If it works try using different cypher types for pw protection.
Also you can use inssider to see what channel is best for your network.
Inssider is a good tool to have around anyway.
Depending on how you use you need your network you could also try wireless N only on the 2.4ghz wireless.
I had wireless drops on my crap android in an older fw version. None however using beta 1.12!
Tinker with it a bit a certain setup may fix the issue.
WPA2 only or even WPA only or some odd mix.
I was having a issue with windows and 5ghz I had to hide my ssid with no pw otherwise I would loose DNS on windows. Its a windows issue but that was the work around. I just made my ssid complex like a pw.
Hope those tips help.
Good luck
