Eh, probably should have tied that however I was just wired yesterday. Oh well. I've forwarded it on to D-Link for review. It's in inconvenience thats resolved by a power cycle.  :-\

I guess we'll have to wait to see what happens next. If users are having a bad experience with this release, I recommend you go back to the prior that worked well for you for now.

Try disconnecting from the wifi and then try reconnecting. See if you can reconnect. I bet you can't.

This is not a beta.  ::) Even though it seems like it. Oy vay.  :-\

Again, never had a problem with StreamBoost before this current beta.

Are you still in contact with QualComm by chance VO?

I tried ABE again same issue.
ABE IS BROKEN USE MANUAL :)
I haven't had any issues other than dupes.
Use the post I wrote see if it works for you.

Note: My gaming performance is way better thank before using the new FW.
So for that I'm happy but I hope dlink can get these other issues worked out quickly. They are close to a solid gaming router but the buggy FW is off putting. I pray that they fix these issues in a timely manor and not another 7 months without a fix

I still have the email of the person i was in contact with at Qualcomm.
Although I have not spoke with him in a couple of months.
I would try tweeting @QualcommAtheros and ask for support help for streamboost.
That's how I got in contact with support the first time.
If ya need I could PM you the email of the person I was in contact with but I would try a fresh start first.

I was thinking, it would be nice to maybe have someone on there side review this forum besides D-Link. Would maybe help both of them figure things out and help in development.

Would be nice to have some Qualcomm eyes and a voice here in the forums if possible.  ::)

I guess I should recommend that users not upgrade to this for now. I think that  users should avoid this version unless you really wanna test it out for curiosity's sake. Go for it.

I've pasted all of this on to D-Link. Please be patient.  ::)

Ok well, I guess you be happy to know that when I got home today and was going to check the status of the router and DAYS online and received the following in my Safari browser:
"500 - Internal Server Error"
 >:(
I can not access the routers web page however I still have internet access and the router and WiFi seem to be working. Been good up until today which is about 9-10 days of online time. I presume that if I power cycle the router I'll get regain access to the UI. Last time I was in the UI was yesterday.
Strangely enough the EXACT same thing happened to me today.

Can you check to see if your able to get in using a static IP on windows that's still within the routers dhcp range?

Strangely enough the EXACT same thing happened to me today.

Any status on this?  ???

I haven't had any issues with this FW version aside the duplicate icons which has been submitted for review. My router has been solid since installation and following the new FW update process for this version of FW.
Follow this for updating:New DGL-5500 Only Firmware Update Process!

If you can provide some feedback to the questions presented, we can see if there maybe issues elsewhere:
Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations
  • What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
  • What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?
  • Is ISP Modem/Service using Dynamic or Static WAN IP addressing?
  • What ISP Modem service link speeds UP and Down do you have?
  • Check cable between Modem and Router, swap out to be sure. Link> Cat6 is recommended.
  • Check ISP MTU requirements, Cable is usually 1500, DSL is around 1492 down to 1472. Call the ISP and ask. Link>Checking MTU Values
  • For DSL/PPPoE connections on the router, ensure that "Always ON" option is enabled.

So any ETA on a fix for this buggy and broken update? The duplicate items under the network are a minor annoyance, however they make one of the most important features of the router, the ability to control Priorities, useless as each item appears 1-3 times in the Priorities list, making it impossible to manage and completely useless. Between that, SB testing every other day for no good reason, and the overall instability of the router it makes this product look really amateurish (did D-Link even test this thing with more than 3 people?)

True, this update brought the router back to a semi-usable state after the previous dreadful updates but is still very far from the gaming router D-Link's advertising promised when this router launched.

You say here that you didn't have any issues with this FW but a few posts before you said you got locked out of the router and had to powercycle the router to fix the problem.....  Which is it?

The post you quoted was in response to another user.

Yes, my router finally hung up after 9 days. VaultOverseer seems to have a work around by using a static IP address to gain access to the routers web page. I posted here about it:
http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=59817.msg239293#msg239293

Yes, I have forwarded this information on to D-Link for review. We did see this same problem back on v1.10 I believe.

You say here that you didn't have any issues with this FW but a few posts before you said you got locked out of the router and had to powercycle the router to fix the problem.....  Which is it?

I haven't heard anythink back as of yet. Not sure if they even checked there junk mail.

Also, we know that other Mfr's maybe using QCs Streamboost technology, If we think about it, who's to say that these issues with SB are not being seen on those products as well? We can only presume that QC is using the same SB code and engine since SB core belongs to QC. Just a thought I had.  ::)

Been too quiet from D-Link. Sorry.  :-\

I recommend that users, if there not into doing a lot of testing and don't want the hassle of loading B05, revert and load v1.12 B03.

I have to say, after the initial rush of issues that I had, it's been pretty good since (I know I just jinxed it)
