Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
  • What region are you located?
  • Are you wired or wireless connected to the router?

There isn't any settings on the routers for handling NAS. The only thing I can think if is that something is accessing the NAS keeping it from sleeping when needed.

Is the NAS set up with a Static or Reserved IP address. We recommend Static for NAS devcies.

Well you can try this FW located here:
http://www.dlink.com/de/de/support/product/dir-655-wireless-n-gigabit-router?revision=deu_revb

If you choose to update, please use this to do itFW Update Process

Let us know if it helps...I'd disconnect all devices from the router that may try to access the router accept for one PC. Ensure that this PC doesn't have any back ground running apps that maybe accessing the router. Camera and Camera capture software can keep the drive running if it's setup and configured in this application.

Ya, my bad, sorry about that.

I can't find any FW either for this model router.

I recommend that you disconnect any device from the router and see if something might keep the NAS from sleeping. Then try the NAS disconnected from the router, does the NAS sleep then as well?

Ya, something maybe incompatible or a configuration issue.

Is there constant LED activity seen on the router or NAS when the NAS is connected on the LAN port? There any LED activity indicators on the NAS?

What model is the NAS? This is a LAN wired NAS correct? Not a USB drive?

Could maybe try a different router to see if similar problem happens. Borrow one from a friend.  :-\
