I had a Linksys gigabit N router with storage port, the WRT350N. I kept losing the connection to the router, or connection to the inernet through the router, or both, it was very frustrating. I tried several firmware upgrades, but nothing helped the problem.
I bought a DIR-825 about a week ago and put it online. It's been very stable, with no disconnects. We have 3 computers and a XBox360 all connected to the 2.4 Ghz N channel, which I set to channel 1. I also have a D-Link wireless media adapter that is connected to our TV in the bedroom to stream movies from our Windows Home Server. I also watch some movies online via NetFlix. Everything works great.
One thing that my wife and I both noticed is that the internet was way faster using the D-Link router. Her computer is wired to the router along with the Home Server and the other computers are wireless. My wireless connection shows rates varying from 160 mb to 300 mbps. I have no idea why the D-Link is so much faster than the Linksys, but it is.
We are using a Comcast Business internet connection, with download speeds of 12 to 15 mbps and upload around 2 to 2.4 mbps.
I'm using the older 1.01 firmware? I haven't looked to see what the upgrades are in the newer versions, but as long as this thing works this good, I don't think I need to upgrade
