I just upgraded to Snow leopard on my Mac(wireless) Started losing internet. Networking is fine. Can send and move files from all machines.
So itried my wored machines. Called comcast signal is ok. Saw this in log..
No Internet access policy is in effect. Unrestricted Internet access allowed to everyone
Tried evrything. reboot, factory defaul;ts, etc etc. Static, dynamic ips.
I still had my dlink 615.
Plugged it in and it works.
I dont wanna use 615..snd I bought this on ebay. No telling how old it is etc.
I read one guy said he kept doing factory default resets. I dont understand it. I can share everything, betwen mac, linux and vista machines. Print too. But inet wont come in.(It is working..tested it)

I just bought a Dlink dir-635 today, packed it out and connected it. Without problems I had connection with the internet over wire. However, the Wireless LAN info says: Wireless Radio: Init failed. See the screenshot: http://clip2net.com/page/m0/1975407

I read through all the posts and tried everything. Nothing helped. Shall I go back to the retailer?

That is a sign a a broken radio unit, return it and get a replacement.

I had a DIR655 that has developed this same problem. I followed the same steps that you have all done here but I still have the same result where the Wireless Radio Init fails. I talked with the live tech support and tried to keep it as short as possible since I am out of warranty. I just tried to find out if I could send the unit in for repair and when I spoke to a RMA specialist, I was informed that D-Link does not offer repair option for equipment out of warranty.

Has anybody else run into this problem of acquiring an RMA?

Got the same Wireless Status error, "Init Failed".  RMA'd it to retailer, replacement was ok.

Gave serious thought as to whether to get a different wireless router.  Deciding factor was my belief that a marginal/failing A/C adapter was the cause of many problems with the DIR-655, which I could easily test and replace myself.

Point is, it may be the power supply that's crippled, not the unit itself.

You know, I just had a similar problem where my DIR-655 router would cease activity, all lights go out, internet stop, family scream. The blue power light would flash briefly and intermittently. Turns out it was the power connection, the plug was in the power bar very loose, so I re-plugged it into a wall socket directly. Voila, family is quiet again!
Thanks for the suggestion - it helped.
