Media Library Shares
« on: December 15, 2014, 03:14:29 AM »

On my 320L the media library shows all my old media shares, how do you remove them? They are not listed on the web management page but when I browse using a dlna/upnp app on any device it lists all my old shares??

There must be a solution to this. I have seen numerous threads about loading FFS and then other apps but I bought this NAS as I’m not a developer and wanted a simple storage with some additional functions. The fact we cannot refresh/reorganise the folders/files without the Media share duplicating is stupid. This is driving me crazy.

When i log into my film share via my blu ray player or ps3 I have three different movie folders all with different items. If I go into the NAS there is one Movie folder with those films in.

This in known error and there is also no solution. Use the ffp or alt-f software, all your problems will gone.

Need to check with the Mfr of the TV to see what file and folder structure they support. There are many file types and not all Mfrs support them all.

I am located in the UK.

The reason I dont want FFS is becuase I dont want to get into all the coding. Is it not possible to use some of the inbuilt apps available for the 320l to run the media sharing?

Ffp is not a coding. It is a software, nothing that everyman using PC can' handle. Alt-f is easier - it is the same procedure as firmware upgrade. The original software is full of bugs and has a lot of problems especially with the media server...with no other solution.

You can also try addons, but imho it will not make you happy.

I found a sort of solution to this. Dont add files to folder with files already in. Just add another folder and put the file in there. This will not cause any duplication of the files and folders. I have a bit more piece in my world!
