DNS -327L Compatible List
« on: January 15, 2015, 08:32:34 AM »

I want to expand my DNS with a : Western Digital Green WD20EZRX SATA3 6Gb/s 2 TB (WD Green 2TB IntelliPower 64MB SATA3)
And guess what, it isn't on the list.
Bu maybe the list isn't correct, because the WD20EADS is mentioned 2 times.
I see the WD30ERZX  is on the list.

Hi, why don't you use the WD Red? They are specifically built for NAS (a lot of details on the web site).
I am using two of them (WD20EFRX) on my DNS-327 and they work great.

Hi Haldo,

You made me turn to the WD Red. It works beautiful.

My arguments for the Green was:
- it is cheaper (20%)
- my NAS doesn't have a lot to do. ( 90% of the time is idle)

My other disk is a Hitachi HDT725040VLA380. It was an old disk that I took because I wanted to experiment a bit.
Now I am making a backup from this small Hitachi to the large WD.
Next step is to make a backup from my computer.
After that I make a backup from my other hard-disk  It is a USB disk.
