 The camera was working perfectly for a month or so then the other day when I turned it on the right side of the image is green and blurry in color mode and very dark translucent gray when in night vision mode. I updated the firm ware  recently but it was working fine after that. I have not made any changes to factory settings besides adding the wireless ssid and password.

Did the focus ring move?

Try fixing that first

Thanks - I'll check - there is another post with screen shot titled "Strange half of image" that looks like the same problem as mine - there is a gray line up the middle/right and after that the right side is all distorted

No update - I'm remote from the camera for a few more days. I opened a support case with d-link via email. I don't think the focus is the issue as I never adjusted it but I'll give it a try.

From experience with other D-Link camera models I can say that the vibrations and motion from the pan tilt motor can cause the focus ring to shift over time. I'm not 100% sure the DCS-5222L has a manual focus. However, the symptoms you're describing don't sound like a focus issue as the image would be uniformly blurry (one would think).

Another thought is that the IR cut filter is not fully engaged/disengaged, causing half of the image to appear different in Night mode. Do you hear a clicking when the camera enters/leave Night mode? If you don't hear clicking then perhaps the IR cut filter is stuck half-open.

D-link has responded to my ticket and recommends re-installing the latest firmware and then performing a factory reset.

Turns out the lens and LEDs has a film on them from a nearby humidifier - i wiped clean and now it's working perfectly.

Same problem, but I don't think it's related to humidity (at least in my case). Even after a hard reset I didn't solved. The image is pink on left half, there's a soft/dark band in the center, and it's greenish on the right half.
On night mode the right half of the image is totally black.
I don't hear the "click" that the camera should produce when switching to night mode and back to day mode (electrical problem? camera sensor magnetized or with static electricity on it?)
