How do I get around the certificate error and timeout error

I get" There is a problem with this website’s security certificate" every time I log in
I cannot view the certificate to make it OK as every thing is greyed out
How do I fix this.
I am the administrator of my win8 PC.
Plus every time I log in, it of course tells me it has timed out so I must always log in twice.
Are they related?
