You know, this camera used to work absolutely flawlessly on the original firmware it came with.  Then I made the HUGE mistake of upgrading to the latest firmware.  Now the stupid thing can't stay reliably on the network.   It needs POWER CYCLING pretty much daily.   For a security camera this is utterly UNACCEPTABLE.

I'm not going to ask for a "fix" since every single upgrade to the firmware has made it worse.  Can someone point me to the ORIGINAL firmware?

What region are you located?
Was there a problem being exhibited to cause a FW update? I don't recommend updating FW unless problems are found and all troubleshooting has been exhausted. Not all problems are fixed by FW updates.

What Mfr and Model is the main host router this camera is connected to?
How far is the camera from the man host router?
Is the camera wired or wirelessly connected?
What wireless modes are you using on the main host router?

• Any 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz cordless house phones or WiFi APs near by that maybe causing interferences?
• Any other WiFi routers in the area that maybe causing interferences? Link> Use InSSIDer to find out. How many? Use v3, its free.

You can refer to the URL below containing the old F/W.  Refer to your package which F/W came with your unit.  But as FurryNutz indicated, the region and surroundings may matter so check it out first before changing your firmware version.

We recommend always checking regional D-Link web sites first to see if there is FW available. Each region handles there own FW and it's not recommended to mix regional FW and some features may differ.

Update May 2015- After spending more time with these cameras I have decided they are just JUNK. That is not to say all d-link products are junk. I have other camera models that work fine. (Am not impressed with their ac routers either) The only way to keep these cameras working more than 3 days, is to cycle the power off then back on again. Even with the firmware update that enables scheduled reboots, they just quit taking pictures or sending emails after a couple of days. Sometimes I can log into the camera, but mostly not. Maybe they would work wired only? If you read camera forums you will find many users with same problems. D-link has really hurt their reputation with this camera.

I believe that they should reassess the quality of firmware release over time and comprehensive test cases they've used before.  Sad to say, even my DCS-1130L having a stable connection for more than 4 years, had degraded in connectivity due to their recent version released for security fix.  Sometimes, I got this feeling to regret for not getting those cheap CCTV system.  I hope that their IP cameras should have the same quality like their routers.

which latest firmware is garbage v1.12?
I am still stuck at firmware 1.01.  scared to upgrade with all the horror issues here as I only have 5x a year access to my remote 6010L.

...dlink support should at least focus on "stability" of 6010L firmware because one of the most expensive dlink camera I have (932,942,5020),

If your camera is not experiencing any problems, it's recommended to not update the camera. "if it works, don't fix it!"

We recommend doing a factory reset on the camera, update FW if you choose too, then factory reset once more after the update and set up from scratch.

These cameras have been a nightmare of disappointment.

 The first camera I purchased had problems staying on the network. Had to RMA it back to Dlink overseas costing me over 100$. But when it worked I was impressed with the picture quality. Since I thought it was just a bad camera, I purchased 2 more. What a mistake! I have come to find out they are all bad apparently.  The only way to keep the cameras on the network was to power them off every day. Otherwise after a few days or less, they will lose the network.  So I was thrilled when the firmware update v1.12 showed a reboot setting included. Hoping this would fix my problem I updated one of the cameras. Made it worse than ever! Could only connect to it for a couple of hours, and then not at all. So I reset the camera and reverted back to original firmware.  Same issue now, seems that updating firmware ruined the camera.  YES, I have reset it multiple times. Was going to try running cable to it instead of wireless. But read here on the forum somewhere a user that is having the same issue with it wired.  So, I guess I`ll try to RMA another camera, and make sure never to update the firmware. Will put them on a timer to turn them off at least once every 24 hours.

I recommend keeping in contact with your regional support group on the phone and make sure they understand your experiences. If you get a new RMA camera, don't update the FW. Test the camera out of the box first. Skip any update notices...Disable any FW update check features on the camera if available.
