hi fellas! I finally had to make an account because I can not find anything on my issue and I'd rather not use dlinks support. I know this is the wrong section in the forum but im desperate.

I have a dns-343 with firmware v1.05. my problem is the dns doesnt see any hard drives I put in it. The 4 hard drive icons just flash and pushing the next button say "no volume detected" also in the admin gui, there is not any hard drives listed.

here is what I have done so far:

down graded firmware one by one to 1.02 and upgraded one by one to 1.05 -tested-failed
formatted a HD on a windows computer and installed- failed
performed a factory reset and also a reset after each firmware downgrade/upgrade

any advice I would be so grateful, I have been wanting a 4 bay nas and I don't want to send it back.
