Sorry to heard that did not work for you, there is always the mydlink portal, although this may not be the best way to do this, is still a viable option.
- Login to the mydlink.com portal
- Select the DNR-202L from the list. The page should come up with a message regarding firmware upgrade needed. Follow the instructions there.
- The process takes about 10 mins, depending on your internet connection.
The moment you upgrade the firmware, you should be able to install the Active X in IE 11 or run Java in FF
