Lost total connectivity
« on: February 17, 2016, 06:55:40 PM »

It was tempermental a few months ago... power cycle helped.

Last 2 days - just sitting next to it - I can see it lose internet connection for a few minutes and reconnect.

Today - around 8 am - lost total internet.  SD card stopped recording at this time.  Power cycle did not help.

Showed as "mydlinkcam" in wifi when I tried to connect to it - but it failed.

Had to reset and setup again.

Is it wired or wireless when you were observing it?

 ??? Funny!   :o ;D

The 960l & 2630l are wireless only.

My bad, I keep forgetting about these two not having any LAN.  ::)

Are there other devices connected to the main host router I presume?
What wireless modes are you using on the main host router?

It is odd that the 960 is becoming unstable and needs a factory reset and set up to get it going.
Can you determine the length of time from good to bad operation and how long it takes before it goes bad?

Was on 2nd router behind main.  The main needs a reboot this weekend. Having big trouble getting to devices with in its own network on 192.168.1.x. one camera only works inside on outside ip, and I can't get to it steadily from outside. (I did set up and played around with port forwarding alot this week).

Using all wireless modes 2.4/5/5 on second router.

I had posted a month or so ago about it going offline randomly, but power cycle solved that. I'd say about a month this time.  Will keep an eye on it though.

You might try single mode on the main host router or 2ndary AP and test. Seems like this could be something interference caused as well. Need to narrow it down if possible.

Its been doing occasionally but reconnecting after a moment.

The 2630l has acted up slightly.  Shows as good cloud camera in mydlink app,  but times out.  I'll probably have to power cycle it. (Don't have port forwarding set up yet)

This thread has been inactive but I just installed a DCS-960L and might be seeing the same thing.  Camera has been online for about 2-3 weeks and has just gone offline.  However this is a little different than expected.  Router still shows that the device is attached but I can not access it either through myDlinkLite or directly by IP address.  Not sure if it will come back on its own or will need a power cycle.  Don't have a remote power switch on this cam so will need to wait to see if state changes by itself.  Will update this thread if any change.

Firmware is 1.04

I have a feeling a power cycle will be needed.  Mine acted up again last week for a couple days and was flashing red.    I power cycled it to bring it back.

My other 960L has been fine, but that one gets power cycled daily (I turn on when I leave, off when home).

My 960L has been stable since installation. Have not power cycled it at all. Only have lost connection to WIFI when I'm changing routers or APs out however it seems to reconnect once the wifi is online and ready. v1.04

Had power outage on 4/8 as reported in email from my UPS.  960L came back online when power came back on.  Today, one week later,  camera went offline again but still shows as attached to the router.  This one camera is different from my others in that it connects to a Netgear Powerline Wifi extender.  The Wifi end of the link is about 2 feet from the 960 so there shouldn't be any interference and the signal strength is as strong as it gets.

Not sure if the camera is still reporting that it is attached or if the powerline system is remembering the IP address and reporting it even though the camera is gone.

Another possibility is that this camera firmware goes half-way away but not all the way (i.e. the firmware gets in a funny state).

This is the first 960L I've purchased.  I have two 2630L cams (very reliable), four 2330L cams (be sure to get a remote power switch for these if in a remote location), and a 4602EV (in operation for about 3 weeks, great so far).  The 960L was installed at the same time as the 4602EV and has been offline about as much as online.  The only reason it came back online was due to a power outage.  Nice picture when it's online.  Looks like this falls into the "needs a remote power switch" category like the 2330L cam.

I have similar thread on this titled scheduled reboot.   I have same case as you, my other 960L was dead for 5 weeks (but router says connected) and only come back when there was a power outage.

Have you setup a daily scheduled reboot of 960L?  it is on the Maintenance section.
