In what way? Do you mean installing WHS on the 323?

That's how I interpreted the question- in short, No.  Completely different CPU architecture amongst other things.

Sorry ... wasn't able to keep up with the post ... but yes. 

Thanks ttm ... you answered my question.

The issue has arisen since i do everything based upon windows architecture and not very comfortable with the whole Linux/Unix type.  I'm doing research and reading up on the fun_plug as well as the other hacks. 

I pretty much just want to be able to make the 323 easily accessable to my family, while maintaining security and not having to use the Easy Search Utility to map drives.

In other words, I just want to make the 323 a persistent network share on our home workgroup.

There's no reason the DNS-323 can't be made a persistent share on a workgroup LAN, and the ESU is just one of the ways to map a drive, you can map the drive from Windows, tick the "reconnect at startup" box and the drive will be available just like any other drive.

RAID1 is for disk redundancy - NOT data backup - don't confuse the two.

I'm using my DNS 323 in an entirely Windows based home network and it shows up perfectly in the Network Neighborhood in both my Vista and Windows XP computers.
