Can't access ShareCenter
« on: January 20, 2017, 09:20:35 AM »

Hi Guys,

About a month ago, I purchased the DNS-320L and was very pleased with it. However, I am now having trouble accessing the sharecenter web UI, I haven't had any problems in the past up until this point and can't find anything online regarding it. I am unable to load the webpage, it constantly comes back saying that the website cannot be reached while using the Microsoft Edge browser. When trying to load it on Chrome, I can see the login screen which doesn't fully load as the word administrator never appears, and when I do try to login, I am then greeted with the cannot load page message. All firmware was up to date and I wasn't doing anything at the time that could have caused any problems, the only way I can access it is by restarting the NAS, but it's only available for about 5 minutes, after that, I am back in the same situation.

Any kind of advice would be much appreciated.

1) Which version of windows are you using?
2) Have you tried using firefox?
3) Is your DNS-320L set to use a static IP address?
4) If the answer to 3) is yes can you reach the NAS by using htto://192.168.xxx.yyy, with xxx and yyy being replaced with the numbers for the NAS, in any browser?

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your DNS? Look at the sticker behind or under the device.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the DNSs web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

What Mfr and model is the main host router?

Hi,
you can test :
1) on a command line (CMD) : type ping -t "your NAS IP" (make sure ping/arp is not blocked by firewall) keep it open you'll come back later to this window
purpose : to see if the link between you (Router/PC) and the NAS is not dropped after the '5' mins
2) if you have a newer FW (1.07 xxx) try to connect via TELNET or SSH (use putty or other ssh/telnet utility program)
Purpose   : to see if the NAS is reachable by SSH / TELNET if so there is an issue on 'lighhttpd' config or the daemon / or your router must be checheked too
Purpose 2 : if SSH is OK ... oyu can do an 'rsync' to BACKUP at least your DATA from the HARD DISKS to annother Network location
3) In that '5' mins you've, try to setup a share (read & write to all account ) on your Volumes (Volume_1 & Volume_2) assuming you didnt change Volume name
Purpose 1 : see if the shares are available even when the UI isnt reachable
Purpose 2 : TO BACKUP YOUR DATA ... and do a 'RESET' of your NAS
4)    /!\ MUST BACKUP YOUR DATA BEFORE DOING A RESET/!\
5) after all that I think more than 5 mins are gone ... so back to your CMD window and see if the Ping request are continuing to give you thing like :

Pinging google.com [216.58.204.110] with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 216.58.204.110: bytes=32 time=3ms TTL=44
Reply from 216.58.204.110: bytes=32 time=3ms TTL=44

if so ... the link between router/pc and NAS is not dropped

Hope you can fix this
