Hi guys, has anyone managed to add one of these to a Hikvision NVR?
I've tried all the custom protocols I can find but nothing will work, it's probably something simple that I'm missing. If someone can help that would be amazing!

NVR should have ability to manually add a camera

WiFi camera needs to be connected to the local network and NVR needs to be connected to the same network

Many dlink cameras use ONVIF(open network video interface) protocols, not sure about the 825l

Go into the NVRs camera setup menu and select an open camera port.
Each camera needs its own port even if it is not physically connected to the NVR, so an 8 camera NVR can not support 9 cameras
If you use port 6, for example, on the NVR for a networked(wifi) camera then you can not plug in a wired camera to that port.
On some NVRs you will need to plug in a cat5 cable to the port selected and that cable needs to be connected to the network(router/switch), the NVRs "internet" cat5 won't see a camera.
If you only have the 1 cat5 cable then get a 4 or 5 port switch to get the extra ports needed at the NVR location

Select manual setup and enter the IP address of the wifi camera, and select type as ONVIF and then user name and password of the camera(info YOU put in to camera when you set it up)

See if that works

Just thought I'd post some feedback as I finally managed to get it working.

The 825L doesn't support ONVIF which was a pity as it would have been so much easier to add it.

What worked for anyone in a similar situation was to add a Custom Path like this:

rtsp://admin:passwd@ipaddr:554/play1.sdp

which I found here http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=57687.0

and then applying the custom path to the a port setup with the IP for the camera in question note that:

IP Camera Address = IPC IP address (has to be in the same range of the NVR IP)
Protocol = whatever you called the Custom protocol
Management Port = 554
Channel No. 1
Username = admin (unless changed in IPC settings)
Password = the cam password set at setup of IPC
Transfer Protocol = Auto
Adding Method = Manual

It is counter intuitive that you enter all the details in the custom protocol including the username and password and then enter them again when adding the camera this is what was getting me as I was adding a generic path for the video stream, that works on a browser, but it's an HTTP stream and HIikvision apparently don't support HTTP stream but they do RTSP.

I would just like to add a little thing since this post shows up at the very top of google search if you look for D-link camera + Hikvision NVR

Under custom protocol "stream path" you need to just type /play1.sdp not ip-adr/play1.sdp since you specify the ip adress when you add a camera.

just tried this on my nvr. the management port is greyed out when you add a camera and it seems to be set to 8000. in my custom prototcol I have tried port 554, port 8000, and the port the d link camera was set to 13824. in each case i have changed the http port to that in the camera network setup page. nothing seems to work any ideas?

I have tried both approaches and neither get the camera online. the default http port on the dlink camera (mine is dcs930L) is 13824. i have tried that instead of 554. neither work. any ideas?
