I can't make the router to connect to Dns-o-matic service.
I read some posts from other people with other D-Link routers which seems to have problems connecting to dnsomatic.
I couldn't find a solution though....
Is it a known issue? is there a fix or a way to make it work?

• What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under the router case.
• Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
• What region are you located?

Some D-Link routers didn't support other 3rd party DNS services. They support DynDNS which is a D-Link supported service I believe.

Can DynDSN update my OpenDNS ip?

I would contact them and ask. I don't use DDNS services.

I can confirm that DynDNS (dlinkddns) is working.
However, in order to use OpenDNS, I need to use DnsOMatic which doesn't work.
Any suggestions?

I presume if you use DDNS that OpenDNS may not be needed. I'd contact DDNS and see if any additional configurations are needed.

DNS O Matic is probably not supported on D-Link routers.

OpenDNS is needed in order to have a personal web pages filtering/monitoring.
It is a pity that D-Link routers don't support manual dynamic dns services.

I would ask DDNS if there is any configurations they support that would work for your needs...

Viewing an old SNB forum post, someone said to use the username, not the email address.

Thank you again! I played around with the settings and did get an e-mail which confirmed I had gotten it right. For reference the setup for DNS-O-Matic is:

Hostname: 'all.dnsomatic.com' (Don't ask me why, but it's what works)
User name or e-mail address : 'username' (Using e-mail didn't work)
Password: 'password'

I used DNS-O-Matic with my old D-Link as well and it's a great service where you can do all your DNS related operations through the router not having to run and scripts and/or clients on a machine in your network. They support all major dyndns services in addition to OpenDNS of course (I'm using them for for parental controls).

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I have the exact same issue.
I'm trying to do the same thing, but I don't understand the "username instead of email" thing.
There's no such thing as a username on OpenDNS. Or, better, username equals email.
Did anybody have success with DNS-o-matic?
