use firmware 1.04 or lower should be fine... many shaw users can't get IP from DHCP if they use firmware 1.05 or higher.

P.S.: Not suggested, but people find that 1.11EU version also work. It voids ur warranty.

Hi
There seems to be a 1.11 North American Beta Patch, if you call Dlink's Tech support.
"call their tech support and someone would give me a link to a non-public FTP so I can download the North American 1.11 beta patch"

Cheers  :)

Ok, We will get the firmware posted to the publicly accessable FTP site that works the best for the east cost MSO situation. We will also list in the release notes what is broken on it that makes us not able to post it to our support web site.

We are obviously still testing and creating new firmware that meets the functionality need we have for Canada or US, but also cover for problems some MSO have with our product as of some time this year. We just need proper balance.

The link will find its way to the forum when complete.

On a lighter note .... I do like your avatar.  8)
Thanks for the consideration of posting that specific firmware, I would like to express my appreciation.
May I respectfully make a suggestion?
Would the forum/mods have any objection(s) to create a section that those of us who choose to install that "beta" firmware, would be able to post any specific problems relating to THAT firmware.
That is just a suggestion and my .000002 cents.  :) :)
Cheers  :)

You could post anywhere on the DIR-655 boards about the beta firmware if you choose to run it. Thats what the forums are for.

We could create a specific child board just for the Beta firmware. Try and keep things a bit more separated.

That would be an good idea (I'll look into it). It helps with the reason we did not post to a public FTP site, we wanted to know who uses it and get feedback. Now we just need to deal with the fact that it isn't 100% code and warn people of its beta nature (no warranty or traditional support).

I believe MAC filters and something else don't work work the way we want. If MAC filters don't matter to people they can knock themselves out.

By the way the MAC filters is not a case of it "doesn't work for me", it really "doesn't work" for anyone.

Fallnout,

It sounds like "thehamster" is going to make it happen. Look for the board to appear soon.

Firmware posted. Use at your own risk.

ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Gateway/dir655/Firmware/dir655_firmware_111b34.zip

Yes, if you try a send it back to us with the code accessible. So make sure it is broken in a way we can't tell or test with the code before you are outside the Retailers Warranty 15 to 30 days for most brick and mortars.

Or a gold Roman Aureus would work best of all.  Though that is a bit much to put into the cause as the equivalent of 6/5 of a single Aureus payed off Judas.  I swear the Christmas season isn't getting to me...really it isn't.
