DGS-1210-08P rev G1 no management VLAN?
« on: October 12, 2020, 01:25:57 PM »

Hi all,

Just got my DGS-1210-08P rev G1 delivered today.

Problem: I cannot seem to find the option to change the Management VLAN.

Which seems rather strange as:
a) my old DGS-1100-08 has the option to change the Management VLAN and has otherwise much less features.
b) according to both the latest datasheet and manual of the DGS-1210-08P, Management VLAN is mentioned as a feature, although when reading the manual in detail I cannot seem to find any instruction, which might indicate that the feature is indeed not there.
c) when searching the forum I found some older posts where users with the same switch are explicitly talking about changing the Management VLAN.

As the switch came standard with fw 7-10-008 I upgraded to the latest fw version 7-20-003 (which btw is not mentioned on the website, I just found it lurking on the ftp.de site) in the hope that the missing feature would be restored, alas nothing.
In the accompanying release notes (with history) I could not find any mentioning of Management VLAN.

Question: is the Management VLAN feature indeed not here anymore or am I overlooking something?
And: was there some point in the past (fw version) which did include the feature (if it indeed is missing now).
And last: is there a specific reason this feature has been dropped?

Thanks in advance!
(from the Netherlands)
