T-Mobile G1 connection issues

Folks:

Do any of you own a T-Mobile G1 and if so are you having any trouble getting it to connect to your DIR-825?  I just got a (used) G1, and it will connect to other routers and APs but not to this one.

I'm still running Firmware 1.0, if that makes a difference.  (I'm a little afraid to upgrade, but I probably will since we're now up to 2.something).
