Had finally got my router setup, working and started doing some testing. Walked out my back door about 40-50 feet from router and signal dropped to 48mpbs on laptop. Walked out to back fence about 100-120 feet away signal dropped to 18mbps. I can live with that I said---not going to be surfing at the back of my fence.
Went and bought me dap-1522 wireless bridge and then the hell started. Could not for the life of me get it to hook up. Put it in the box and said I'm going to take it back. Hour or two later took it out of the box and it WAS working! Ok I'll keep it. Unplugged and then took everything to where I needed it and could not for the life of me get it going again. Really ticked off by now. Then it locked the router up. Went and bought a wet610n ran install and hade same problems. Was like router not sending out signal.
Long stories end---went and bought linksys wrt400 and it installed like a breeze. Re-installed wet610 bridge and it installed easily as well. Spent 30 minutes hooking linksys up and hours upon hours frustrated with setting up the d-link. I'm no computer guru but I was doing everything properly. To top it all off I can walk to the back of my fence and my signal is still full 54mpbs on laptop.
I'm sure the dlink is a good product and in some ways may be superior to the linksys but for ease of setup and wireless strength the only conclusion I can draw is linksys wins.
Thanks to Claykin and others who chimed in to help with my ?'s.
