cc999: I'll try and see if it helps. At this point, it can't hurt, either.
SammyDad: The beautiful thing about Amazon is their customer service. I just sent a request for an exchange, and they're overnighting me another unit which I'll receive on Tuesday. Gotta love Amazon for their customer service. Prepaid return shipping label, too!
When I get the replacement unit, I *won't* upgrade the firmware -- but I'm confused whether v1.21 (what it comes with) has or does not have SecureSpot, which is the reason I selected this router in the first place. Seems as if there are two flavors of v1.21 firmware, where one of them has SecureSpot, and one doesn't.
Like anyone, I just want the stupid thing to work, period, with no fuss. I should be able to put in my username/password (I'm on DSL) and a new network passkey, and that's about it. Why, oh, why does it have to be this hard? After all this time??
