Shareport Network USB Utility not working under Vista?
« on: September 25, 2009, 05:47:52 AM »

I have an HDD plugged into my dir-628 router's USB port and I can connect to it using a Windows XP computer directly plugged into the router through the Ethernet port BUT on my Dell Precision laptop, running Vista Ultimate X64, I connect Wirelessly and the USB Utility window always return:

No USB device is detected.
Please plug in one of the below USB devices.
(Printer, MFP, Scanner, Storage Devices)

Even though I reboot the router. I tried with all available Shareport versions (0.94 to 1.15).

Router Firware is 1.13WW

Anyone has a solution?

Thanks,

I have the same problem, with a newer firmware.

I am using Firmware Version: 1.22NA  and  Hardware Version: A2

I've checked for updates of the usb shareport utility and I have the last version, so this shold not be the problem.

Unless this is resolved pretty soon, it probably is my last DLink.

What you need to do is use Shareport version 1.10. This version is used for firmware versions 1.20 or higher where the other version of Shareport 1.14 or 1.00 is for fireware versions 1.13 or prior. I got this answer from DLink techsupport. Hope this helps.
