Atheros's chipset has conflict with dir 655??
« on: October 03, 2009, 01:34:54 AM »

its pretty funny because dir 655 itself is using Atheros's solution
my roommate is using Asus N80v laptop with Atheros AR928x chipset in his laptop
everytime when he tries to use p2p software, is a disaster for our network
so i try to use his laptop ping google while he is downloading, the ping reaches over 1000ms
sometimes even shows general failure and request timeout
but my laptop next door and the third roommate's laptop are still working fine, and the ping is still in the normal range
but just the network is really laggy
so if you continuously have lock up or slowing down problem, check every client of your router
and i did basic setting such as disable dns relay and copy primary and secondary dns into my router's config
p.s in the end, i also find n mode is not really stable, so im running on g mode now, really stable, we have 3 computers p2p at the same time, no delay no lockup no slowing down whole night
