I have a DIR-825 router with Hardware Version B1 and firmware 2.01EU build 12 (May 22, 2009). I have a problem with Wake-on-LAN when trying to wake my computer with a magic packet.
If I try to wake the machine up instantly after putting it to sleep it works perfectly but after a short while the computer will not wake up any more. So it seems that I know how to send the correct packet, the correct ports shouls be open in my router and the network card and its driver are configured properly.
I know there has been a lots of discussion about this on other DIR models' discussion pages and I do know e.g. this thread:
http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=5934My problem is that I cannot get even the proposed solution working. My router IP is 192.168.0.1, subnet mask is 255.255.255.128 and DHCP range is between 192.168.0.100 and 192.168.0.126. The machine I'm trying to wake up has the IP 192.168.0.100.
On the port forwarding tab, if I configure port 9 to be routed to 192.168.0.100 I can see with a sniffer application that the magic packet arrives onto my computer (and it wakes the computer from sleep if I try to send it quickly). If I change nothing else but the IP Address on the port forwarding tab into 192.168.0.127 which I believe is my broadcast address, the magic packet never arrives onto my computer even if it is up and running.
Could you please advice what should be done to get this working? I am quite sure I have followed the instructions correctly and have spent a lot of time with this issue. Is a working configuration even possible with DIR-825?
