Exactly which SAMBA problem was addressed with this firmware?

This firmware version 1.08b7 runs smooth, no problems whatsover, but: why wasn't this announced here in this forum? Some "local version" which was not meant to be released for the public? D-Link, please advise...

Is that firmware approved by D-Link?
On the official D-Link server you only can find Firmware 1.08b05. No 1.08b07 there.

I'd be really cautious here, I know I'm not loading that until it's "blessed".  ;D

Don't touch that link unless there is official release info from DLINK.

- Beta firmware distributed on a non dlink source (mediafire?)
- The only reference to the firmware is posted by someone with only 1 post to his name?

It'll be interesting to look inside that bundle to find what interesting bits have been added to it.

No description of what's in it either.  Like Russian Roulette with three cylinders loaded!  :o ;D

1. Bugfix : Unable to save the modified word/excel file which already in device through Samba.
2. Bugfix : Normal to Raid1 : create a new volume for the remaining disk space.

Those are the exact bug fixes for b07. While I can not confirm if that site has the same file as I do b07 does exist.

I second that. Runs smooth and didn't even require a complete reset back to factory defaults for the box.
BTW, the last beta 1.08b5 just showed "1.08" as version number on top of the admin screens, this one actually says "1.08beta". Seems to be different, for sure.

Why hasn't this been posted here if it's an "official" beta?

Perhaps because it is not released by D-Link USA.

As station-drivers.com is a french site, maybe a european supporter gave this firmware to a user with problems and the user sent it to the site.

I did not find it on any official public D-link server. So it seems not to be released for public.
But nevertheless it runs fine.

I guess I can wait, since I have no issues at the present with the stuff that has been "fixed" in that list. :)

I have been a reader for a long time as you can see my account. I am not those fly-by posters.

I often checked station-drivers for latest drivers because the manufacturers don't update them very often. I don't know how but the guys at station-drivers.com can obtain the latest stuff when many of them are not even released yet.

Station-drivers often is down, therefore I post a mirror link at media-fire.

I guess D-Link not releasing it because it may not be tested extensively, but we are all beta testers here aren't we?
