Shareport and Windows not communicating
« on: October 14, 2009, 07:35:35 PM »

Hey all, just bought a DIR-655 and it looks like it works well. Set-Up was easy and I really like the idea behind the shareport. Updated software to 1.31NA and downloaded the new shareport utility. It now recognizes my Dell Photo 924. Installed the drivers for the printer on my computer and it shows that it installed correctly. However, I went to print, and the document says printing, but nothing happens on the printer end. Eventually it says no communication. My printer shows up in the shareport and I am connected. Any suggestions?

I have drives/printers show up on my DGL-4500 but I can't access them unless I reboot the router.
The USB device has to be on and ready when the router boots up.
If I attach the USB device after the router boots it sees it but doesn't let me mount it on the computer.
Your router might be the same way if they share some source code.
