DIR-655 | Connection Timing Out
« on: October 29, 2009, 03:00:12 PM »

I'm having an issue with my DIR-655 where after the connection sits idle for 30 minutes or so I am no longer able to connect to the internet. I usually have to spend 15 minutes+ constantly rebooting my router to get back on the internet after the the connection idles out. I have to keep a streaming internet application open to prevent losing my connection when I leave my computer.

I've tried switching off the "DNS Relay" and "WISH" both of which haven't worked. I'm all out of ideas.

Firmware Version :  1.21
Modem: Speed Stream 5200
ISP: Bell Sympatico (Dsl)

I have been having a similar issue.

In my case, every couple of days, the router stops processing http/https traffic until reboot.  Skype works, ping works, but not http.  Furthermore, I cannot access the router login page.

I reboot the router and everything is fine.

This started quite a bit of time after I upgraded to v1.32NA, so I don't think it was the firmware upgrade (at least it was stable for awhile after the upgrade.)

I am about to perform a factory reset and manually setup the router again to see if that helps.  I've just been too lazy to try thus far...  :-)

Anyone else seeing similar weirdness?

This sounds like my situation as well.  I have only tried http and ping.  The next time it happens, I will try other protocols as well.

So, I bit the bullet.  I reset to factory defaults.  I reflashed the BIOS to 1.32NA.  I reset to factory defaults again (just to be retentive).  Then I manually (re-)setup the router.

Connection Up Time : 2 Day 5 Hour 49 Min 07 Sec

Keeping my fingers crossed...
