massive amounts of errors and dropped packets on wireless
« on: October 30, 2009, 12:12:37 PM »

Im experiencing lots of errors and dropped packets on my wireless since updating to 1.32na. I have so far reflashed it to 1.31 and its still doing the same thing if not worst. Have anyone noticed these errors? Anyone have a work around or fix to this problem?

Hi! I have exactly the same problem, with all the firmwares I've tried (I'm now on 1.21 EU).
Since the day I bought dir-655, I've always experienced a lot of wireless errors and drop packages, which are a little lower on wireless n, but increase on wireless g (when using PS3, for example). Have you found any help?

I'm seeing a huge amounts of errors, i've moved my channel around a number of times. I'm now the only one on channel 3. My Xbox 360 seems to the source for the majority of the errors. The Xbox uses a G adapter.

TX Packets Dropped: 0
RX Packets Dropped: 1

Errors: 3885

This after about 30 seconds of clearing the statistics...

Use channel 1-6-11 in EA and 1-7-13 in EU. All errors depend what neighbour you have in the area.
Channels are 22MHz wide (+-11MHz) for that reason you should use that channels to avoid overlapping channels.
If you use N-mode there are only 2 (two) channels to use 6-11 42MHz (+-21MHz).
Use some program to investigate what channels your neghbour use, ex inssider.
