Router not detecting new ip
« on: November 01, 2009, 04:00:55 AM »

Hi guys

I have bought a DIR655 last week to replace my Linksys wrt54g and having problem with my wan connection. I am using pppoe and a bridged Speedtouch 585 v7 as modem. My phoneline is a bit unstable and I sometimes loose connectivity and the modem then changes IP. The problem here is that the DIR655 does not detect this and shows info this.

Firmware Version: 1.21EU Hardware Version: A4
Cable Status : Connected.
DNS Status : Online
Network Status : Established
Connection Up Time : 1 Day 0 Hour 16 Min 46 Sec

I have to manuallt disconnect /connect or unplug the network cable for the router to detect the new IP. I have tested a older Dlink DSL300 modem with same result. My Linksys had no problem detecting new IP on either of the modem/router.

Anyone having any ideas what to do. I have 7 more days to test something before i am returning this product.

I flashed my router with dir655_firmware_122b05_beta and now it detects new ip on the modem. 1.21 must be a s***ty firmware.
