Invisible SSID and Wireless Deauthentication
« on: November 09, 2009, 11:43:11 AM »

Iv noticed that if I have the router set to keep the wireless SSID invisible, when I check in the router logs I see repeated PC with Mac address xxxxx Received Deauthentication and then Reauthentication, and secured and linked mesages. When I disable invisible SSID this problem goes away.

I'm curious what would be causing this? Iv had absolutely no problems with either of my dir-655s so far, and other then a lot of Log spam the wireless computers don't seem to be affected by the constant reauthentication.

HW ver A4 with firmware 1.21

What kind of device is connected? Sometimes standby or energy saving features on NICs will cause this.

3 Different laptops 2 with Intel 5300 wireless cards and 1 with Intel 5100. All have the power saving feature off and all are set to connect even if SSID isn't being broadcast.

These seems to only happen when I set the SSID to invisible in the router.
