Donate some of the B models with the open source to the WRT team.  Reason being is right now the DLINK support is very very poor and you are loosing Customers.   If it cant be fixed inhouse then donate a few of these units to the devs over there and they can make us some WRT opensource firmware.  It was asked in thier forums a few times when/ If they would work on them.  Basicly none of them have the units and dont think they have any interest in purchasing one.  But if they got given one or 2 then am sure they would work on it.

Consider the perks, one of the reason why the old Linksys 54's became a hugely popular item is because of the WRT firmware.   Doesnt cost much (could even send them refurbs) but it might save you guys some customers as well as bring a few back.

Going to be trashing my 825 Rev A tonight due to lack of support and the fact that the issues have been around for over 6 months with no hope of a solution anytime soon.

Anyways, wont be buying another DLINK until either the open source version of the firmware is avail as this item has soured me towards them.  Started with a 655 (or was it a 25?) anyways it fried after a firmware upgrade, was out of warrenty so went and bought another Dlink (stupid me) .. Welcomed the 825 in, worked ok, had some issues.  Then upgraded / broke it forever the dreaded firmware of death with no return.  Since then its been nothing but issues/ drops / reboots / random slowdowns.. etc..

Anyways,  its a revision A so its not open source so no point in donating to the WRT team.  However am sure some of you with the B or even Dlink themselves might want to do it.  Seems to be good product hardware wise, just crap firmware

Actually it is on it way...
https://dev.openwrt.org/ticket/6268
Tried yesterday but could not get the WAN to get an DHCP address. Will try again some other day, but it looks promising. If it solves both my issue with VOIP and IPv6 it is totally worth it.

What does that file from openwrt do?
Are they working on a dd-wrt firmware?

Doesnt do anything, its logs ./ code.   Basicly means they are working on it.  Sadly anyone with a A version is going to be SOL as those are not open source.
