Hi everyone! Got recently a DIR-655 A5 on a VISTA 64bit machine and very strange behavior started to happen...
Configured evthing for port fwrding , torrent ok, ports ok, NAT on, PNP on, and the dl speed doesn't go over 1MB/s and after a while the router hangs/crashes both LAN & Wireless. The only thing that still works is the log on to the router wirelessly. The ! symbol appears on the network sign in the taskbar.
If i don't start the Utorrent, the router acts perfectly.
Does anyone find this familiar or has any solution?

reduce the number of incoming and outbound connections in your torrent client

There is always more to configure. Which BT client do you use?

Make sure the åport forwarding is set to "Port and address restricted" and not "Endpoint independent" as the latter allows more simultaneous connections than this Platinum product can handle.

I had a similar problem, but in my case the router would go into "Brick mode" after 9 hours or so.. It got a bit better after I set the mode to port and address restricted but it didn't solve my problem. See my popular "Uh oh" -thread for details.

My client is utorrent cofigured properly with low number of connections, nat & pnp enabled, the router also with those enabled, port fwrding. Disabled Qos and other packet related options...
I tried also to disable the router firewall. The same.
BTW, i use kasperski internet security (firewalll, antivirus, anti-malware). Is it possible to cause this behavior?

i tried both... initially set to endpoint independent, and finally restricted and it acted the same.

Mine has been running acceptably  since I changed it back to port and address restricted. I left mine off for about 8 hours to make sure all previous connections were killed though. You could try that.

Yep, I think this is your problem.

I run µtorrent but I do not have NAT on in options as µtorrent uses UPnP.

I have:
UPnP enabled
NAT-PMP port mapping disabled

Try turning off KIS and see what happens.

BTW- I run KAV and have no issues with torrents or µtorrent.

Same... And i guess KIS has no implication in this issue, because if i am connected to the internet without router-directly from the pc it works fine.
looks like i'm bad luck deeply...

Your IP is different when on a router so KIS could still be the problem.

Have you posted in Kaspersky forum just to make sure?

Also, try shutting down KIS just to see if µTorrent works then.

I know, and i tried also with KIS off through router. Same. Utorrent works, but crashes after a while. I will try and search something about KIS and torrent clients to see if something's coming up.

Also, make sure you have added µTorrent to exclusions.

settings>Threats and exclusions>trusted zone>Trusted applications and make sure to have do not scan opened files checked

Done that, same issue...
I've tried also with KIS uninstalled and no change whatsoever.
I am now updating the FW to 1.30EU as a last resort and i'll post after.
