LAN troughput low
« on: December 28, 2009, 04:33:29 AM »

Hi,

Besides my other issues i noticed that copying a DVD from one PC to a NAS is going very slow.
Both the PC and the NAS have 1GB LAN ports.

I achieve an average of 5Mbits/sec. With my Linksys WRT150N i achieve approx 70-90Mbits/sec so quite a difference.

Does the DIR-655 require some specific settings?

I am having similar issues.  When I connect directly to my cable modem - I am getting 16 MBps download speeds.  When I connect the DIR-655 and use a hardwire connection, I am getting 9 MBps.  I have just installed the latest firmware and that did give me a small bump form 8MBps.  Any ideas?

Probably something is misconfigured on the LAN. Could be double DHCP, double NAT etc...

there is only DHCP server and that is the router.
No there is nothing else wrong. Have approx the max available speed throughput with my own router the WRT150N.
Can't manage to have a regular throughput above 5 procent of what the wrt is doing.

So it must be inthe router.

Tried with my father's DIR-655. High peaks but also still some lasting lows ! Barefoot router with out of the box settings. Average approx comparable with the wrt.

No something is seriously wrong with this given router.

Haven't you learned anything? D-link is flawless, there are no bugs - only features, and the only errors that can be made are costumer errors because D-link is so perfect that if you have $5 and D-link has $5, D-link has more money than you. :/

No, but really.. I don't think anyone takes him seriously anymore. His rating says it all.

Having similar issues with my Dlink 655 w/ 1.32NA.  I've replaced everything and it seems to be the router.  My old router is definitely getting much better throughput.  In addition, I've been having a lot of issues with connectivity to the Internet.  A large percentage of the time, I can't even access the router management.  A reboot of the router always fixes it for a day or two at a time.  I've turned off a ton of features to try to make it stable, and so far nothing has helped.

Awful product so far.  I hope there's some fixes coming soon.

Sarcasm...great move. Karma is overrated, especially when the smite button is spammed.
I really don't care if I'm taken seriously. All I care about is that I can help users with genuine issues. Not about some halfwits that just can't get over their own incompetence. So sorry to disappoint you.
