I searched the forums for a previous post that was even close, so first, if this has been answered previously. I'm sorry. I couldn't find it.
I have two (2) DCS-932LB1's latest firmware (2.01.03) applied as of today trying to resolve this issue
I have a Windows 7 box running the D-ViewCam software (version 3.6.0 at first. Upgraded to 3.6.3 trying to resolve this)
Everything was working just fine up until last night / this morning.
The D-ViewCam software is unable to connect to the cameras now. All I see in the Main console is "Connecting..." then "Disconnecting..."
I do know that the Windows 7 box running the D-ViewCam software rebooted from Windows updates last night / this morning so I am wondering if it was one of the updates creating an issue.
I have uninstalled / reinstalled the D-ViewCam software. I have updated it to the 3.6.3 version. Same reaction.
I am able to get to the web interface of each of the cameras locally.
I am able to access both of the cameras via mydlink.com
I am able to access both cameras via the iPhone application from both locally and
The cameras are still sending me emails for motion (but this is from the setting in the web interface of each camera)
The biggest issue for me with this is I have the Scheduled configuration set for the cameras to begin recording on motion, and since the application does not connect, it never senses motion.
If I set the camera to always record, it still gets nothing.
When accessing Settings > System Settings > Camera Tab. I see both cameras, but all options are greyed out.
I have tried to delete one of the cameras and let it "search" for it, it didn't find it right away, but after several scans it did find it. It was successful with the "auto detect" for the Device information.
The times the search didn't detect a camera, I tried to manually add the camera and I would get an error that states "Cant connect to IP camera. Check network setting."
I also installed the D-ViewCam software onto another machine and the result is the same. (unable to consistently search/find cameras to add, and the above error when trying to manually add the cameras.)
Everything screams network issues to the camera from the app. but all other methods to access the cameras still work without issue.
Does anyone have any thoughts what to look at next?
Logs? where might they be?
Without the ability to record, or more importantly, record on motion, this camera system is useless to me.
Thanks

Same here.
All of a sudden 5 of my 6 cameras fails to connect
"Connecting..." then "Disconnecting..."
These cameras fails to connect
930L
932L
2132LB1
2330L
5020L
This camera connects allright
2332L
Hope there will be a quick solution

Review this:

UPDATE:
I have identified it to be an issue with the security suite I am using on the PC running D-ViewCam.
As a Charter Communications customer, they offer a free security suite (F-Secure)
If I turn off all security features, or uninstall the application. The D-ViewCam software is able to connect to the cameras, or rather, the cameras can connect to the application.
Recording works as expected.
As soon as I turn on the security suite, or re-install it. D-ViewCam stops connecting properly.
I have opened a ticket with F-Secure as I am unable to add an application to the allowed list either.
FurryNutz, this isn't an issue with MyDlink.com, but I will review the link.
I will also update further once I hear something from F-Secure.
-
Sorry FuzzyNutz, Im not following how your link "DCS Cloud (L) Series Camera Configuration and Mydlink.com" relates. It takes me to a forum page for "Topic: Smart Connect Technology FAQ". which has a link for "what is Smart Connect" which reads like a nice, new technology, but has nothing to do with configuring a D-Link L camera.
Maybe I missed something in this?
-
I was curious if this may have been an issue with your multiple cameras. I corrected the link..Sorry about that.
Sounds like your security SW is the issue rather...Let us know if you get any information from that Mfr.
-
Thank you for the latest info in this matter.
I tried your "workaround", disabled the entire F-secure suite and the I got all cameras back.
Bot I prefer having F-secure suite enabled ;-)
Is this the F-secure ticket you opened?

Sounds like this is a SW issue. Hope they will help you get it fixed.
Let us know how it goes.

UPDATE:
F-Secure wouldn't support it as it is a re-branded product from my cable Internet provider.
Cable company support is good for ... well <insert any descriptor you desire here>.
Uninstalled the F-Secure Security Suite
Installed McAfee.
Cameras connect just fine now.
Recording initiates on motion now.
-
My F-secure is not re-branded, so I still think it's their responsibility to support.
Is it your ticket I linked above?
-
Falmarkspeter - I agree 100% that it is the responsibility of F-Secure to support/resolve, however; they are not offering to. I also need this application functional so to this point, this is how I worked around it.
My case number with F-Secure was opened via the web portal and does not have a link, they email you after opening the ticket and then the subject line must stay in tact.
My subject line = F-Secure Customer Care: 00497525 ref:_00Db0JXpV._500b0HuPUO:ref.
I wouldn't mind being able to continue use of the F-Secure product, so if you are experiencing this issue, please open a case with them. You are welcome to sharing my case number also as I provided a lot of details to my trouble shooting efforts to it.
-
Sounds like you found a problem in the SW and found the solution.
Hope it keeps working with McAfee. Good luck in working with F-Secure.
Enjoy.

aoberjat, maybe you can send me the details from your trouble shooting efforts. English is not my main language (It's Sedish) Then I can use the same details when I open a ticket. I send you my mailadress

I do believe he removed F-Secure SW and installed a different branded SW:

Hi Falmarkspeter. The ticket you found/linked above in the F-Secure forums is not mine.
Since you do not have a re-branded product, I would strongly suggest you simply open a ticket and describe to them, that when you disable the product the cameras connect, when you enable to F-Secure product, the cameras no longer can connect.
I believe F-Secure has a built in diagnostic logging tool that may be helpful for them to troubleshoot.
My troubleshooting efforts were at first focused on the D-ViewCam product being the issue. uninstalling, reinstalling, updating.
I then shifted to the F-Secure product, first trying to disable one feature at a time. I started with the Deep Scan protection, and starting D-ViewCam, then disabling the firewall, and starting the D-ViewCam, then disabling the anti-virus portion and starting the D-ViewCam software.
Disabling any one of those individually within the application would not permit the cameras to connect.
I then disabled all three at the same time (but the F-Secure product continues to run) and the D-ViewCam software was still unable to connect to the cameras.
The only thing that allowed the cameras to connect was either uninstalling F-Secure, or turning off all security features.
This tells me that there is still something else running within the F-Secure application that is preventing the cameras from connecting.
Something deeper within the application that we as users will not be able to turn off, or work around.
-
I've opened a new ticket about this.
I also told them about that they gave up on a user (you) because he had a re-branded F-secure.
From my support message:
I do NOT have a re-Branded F-secure.
This is my account ID xxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx
So hopefully you'll work out a sollution for me.
The function of my d-Link cam and d-ViewCam software is very important to me.
I let you know when F-secure have an answer

I recommend if you have a 2nd PC to use, try using a different security SW on this PC if you need immediate access to the cameras with D-view.
Keep us posted on how it goes.

I think F-secure have isolated the problem. I did some troubleshooting for them and it seems like it is two F-secure servises interfering with d-ViewCam and d-Link cams.
If I "disable all securityfunktions" from the middle TAB (the one with the X icon). Then the cameras connect as you see behind the F-secure widow.
And if I after connecting the cameras to d-ViewCam, re-enable F-secure (without restarting my computer, the cameras seems to keep the connection.!
I haven't run my system so long after this test, so I wouldn't trust it as a workaround. And after all the problem is still to be solved in the
F-secure software.
Then I had a suggestion to isolate the services:
I tried stopping the services one at a time:
After Stopping F-Secure Dll Hoster: Cameras connecting fine to d-ViewCam
After Stopping F-Secure ORSP Client: Cameras doesn't connect to d-ViewCam
After Stopping FSMA: Cameras connecting fine to d-ViewCam
So we have two of F-secures services interfering with d-Links d-ViewCam:
F-Secure Dll Hoster and FSMA
To be continued

You do mean F-Secure correct? ???
Thanks for keeping us posted on the issue. This is a F-Secure problem.

Yep, F-secure. my bad. I corrected the spelling in the previous post.

This workaround works. So I have foward this link to F-secure support for their troubleshooting/bugfixing.

We're very close to a sollution now.
I have verified that the plugin is causing problem with the dViewCam and d-Link cams
/Peter
I got this from F-secure support:
===================================================
Hello Peter,
We would like to follow the steps detailed below, to narrow down the search and verify that the issue is in fact cause by our Network Interceptor driver.
Open command prompt in elevated mode. Go to Start, type in CMD, and right click over it to select Run as administrator
Type in: CD "c:\program files\f-secure" and press Enter
Type in: "fshoster32.exe -StopPlugin -plugin:NID" and press Enter
Please try now to reproduce the issue and see if it disappears.
Go back to the command line and type: "fshoster32.exe -StartPlugin -plugin:NID"
The issue will reappear again after this last step, but we will identify the root cause if this worked, and will allow us to solve the issue.
If the issue disappears while the plugin is stopped, please verify to us what version of Microsoft Windows are you running, as we will be sending you the latest version of the driver in order to update the one in your installation, and test if the issue is solved in this latest version.
Best regards,
Karim

I am new so just let me know if I am going about this incorrectly.
My friend has a small shop & I installed 3 D-Link 932L cameras using Dir600L used intranet only no internet.
Worked well until the laptop had to be replaced.
Replaced laptop is running win 8.1.
I am running D-ViewCam as previous ver of windows.
Cameras show in view as connecting/disconnecting but never connect.
Only want to run onsite not offsite surveillance.
Let me know if this should be posted elsewhere.
Thank you for any help.

F-secure sent me the latest version of the "NIF driver" wich I replaced in C:\Program Files (x86)\F-Secure\apps\CCF_Scanning\bin to see if that version of the driver is compatible with d-Viewcam.
And I'm happy to say that d-ViewCam worked perfectly fine with the new NIF driver.
So after weeks of debugging, we have a sollution :-)

Glad they got it working. Hope this helps future users with F-Secure.

Hi I have exactly the same problem :( Can you please send me a copy of the "NIF driver".

I recommend that you phone contact the Mfr of the camera and ask for help and information on this. Check the web site as well for your model camera as maybe they have posted information about it or maybe updated the driver to include this .inf file.

The NIF is a F-secure driver, not a d-Link driver (I wrote that in my post). Contacting d-Link is meaningless when the problem is on the F-secure side...
Where do you want me to send the NIF driver, Nils?

Today I found out that if I uncheck "Do not allow applications to download harmful files" in F-secure settings for firewall, D-ViewCam works :)
