Title: Permanent shutdown or restart camera
Post by: iamgdv on May 21, 2015, 03:36:44 PM
Please help: connection for wifi camera works for a while, then starts or shuts down, or reboot (sometimes with a red indicator, sometimes green). Access to the web camera is lost in network and out of the account on the Dlink.
The latest firmware. Reboot, and you tried to re-register.
Support does not answer.
What to do?
Thanks in advance ....

What MFr and model is the main host router?

What distance is between the camera and main host router?

The camera spontaneously reboots and powers down?  ???

I have the exact same issue with one (1) of the 3 DCS 932L rev A that I have.
Problem seems to be related to the power plug... cause when I switch the Camera's they all have the problem after a few days. Changing from Power Socked did the trick!

I would be willing to wager pie and a cup of coffee that the electrical circuit that was giving problems had an appliance that uses a lot of start-up current when it starts (perhaps an air-conditioner, or a freezer/fridge).  That would cause a large voltage drop for a short time, and could reset the camera.
Or perhaps an inductive load is causing a voltage spike which could also reset the camera.

Something to consider.

Regards,
Bob

Interesting thoughts Robert-e. I like it.

A ups device should keep them up.

Good information. Something to keep in mind.  ;)
