FTP Settings for my DCS-920

I have a website I set up with godaddy to post pics from my DCS-920.  I am trying to use the DCS-920 management tools through the browser.  Under FTP Settings, no matter what I put in the fields (IP address or Domain name under Host Name, my username & password for my website, path blank or with subfolders, passive mode = yes or no) when I click "Test" it always says "Invalid FTP Server". 

I can use Filezilla or IE FTP no problem.  Any idea what I could be doing wrong?

Are your  FTP server and camera located on the same local network? If so can you access the FTP with the camera with the FTP local IP address from the camera?

No, my FTP server is hosted on the internet by GoDaddy.  I want to be able to access the pictures from anywhere.

Is your FTP server secure? If so what type of security does it use and what port does it run on?

yes, it's a secure hosted website.  I have a userid and password, and use port 21.  I can use Internet Explorer to ftp to the website, but I cannot get the camera itself to post there - it always says "Invalid FTP Server"

Does the entry in 'hostname' have to be an IP address?  Because my website is shared at hoster godaddy, I don't currently have a dedicated IP.  I have been trying to use the DNS name but I will order a dedicated IP for my website and then try again using the IP address.

Now that I have a dedicated IP address, I can get past clicking the 'test' button.  However, when I check on the status of the "Test" I get an error message saying "Can not connect to FTP server."  However, if I use Internet Explorer or FIlezilla to FTP to the same IP address, I have no problem uploading files.  I feel like I have tried everything, and am at a total loss as to why I cannot get my camera to FTP to my website. 

Advice please?

i had the same problem originally until i entered IP address for my ftp server, then it would connect.  now different problem... i can connect fine with my cuteftp software, upload/download files fine, but when i try the "test" from the camera i see the login on my proftpd.log same as the cuteftp login: 

FTP session opened. 
ANON username: login successful. 
preparing to chroot to directory '/var/www/ftpdirectory'
FTP session closed. 

no test image file gets uploaded and session closes almost immediately after it is opened.  the error message in the d-link camera control panel is: "TCP/IP socket error."

then the proftpd log just keeps scrolling with the camera's connecting and disconnecting.
very limited in configuration of the camera's ftp server so i'm at a loss at what needs tweaking.
ANY Help will be GREATLY appreciated!

 ??? My DCS 920 donīt works ftp server. The firmware is actual.

I have had no problems with any of my 920's... They all connect to a ftp-server no problem...
