I restarted the computer and was then able to log into the ip. It appears the printer has a sleeping mode that it goes into after a certain period of time(I don't know how long that time is) but there is a power saving option in the settings...which i can't turn off but can increase the time. This did not appear to help though as after a while I'm still unable to "wake" the printer into ready mode....if i could just turn off sleep mode that may work...but i can't...at least not that i can tell anyways. So I'm assuming the router is not waking the printer....but why? The job goes to the printer wirelessly from the laptop through the router but then is "stuck" in the printer's sleeping mode....i can only wake the printer by powering it down and back up...faulty printer maybe?
Hi lestat97,
> faulty printer maybe? Could be, but doubtful.
faulty printer setup? Most definitely.
You have not mentioned your operating system, Software Firewall package being used, or if the operating system firewall is off or on, if you have a Software Firewall?
My Lexmark Printer has three programs going through the McAfee Software Firewall. Windows Firewall is off.
Is the printer working from your other computer?
When you stated that you can't wake the printer, are you blocking part of the Printer's programs in the Software Firewall?
