I suppose I can port forward 8080. I am using a dynamic IP addressing scheme, however, I am constantly able to connect to the FTP portion of the NAS with no problems. And actually the way that my router configures port forwarding is that you don't actually enter an IP address, but by selecting the name of the device on the network to forward ports to. So if the IP does in fact change, it still forwards the ports to the device. But since I am able to connect using FTP, I know the address hasn't changed.
harrisjr: To tell you the truth, I don't believe my particular router has the virtual server feature you talked about, but I can check. The router I am using is an ActionTec GT704-WG.
