Hi again:
My daughter has finished her essay - so the way was clear to reset the router.
The result is - No change - wired connection to Dlink 323 NAS still works, still connected to Internet through wireless connections - but wired connections still fail.

Tried swapping the wired connection to another port while watching the "Wired" status monitor on the 4500's display, it echoed back exactly what I did. So the 4500 is seeing the connections. Somehow the connection is simply getting blocked.
After resetting, with no wired connection to be had, I was forced to reload the configuration file using a wireless connection.
When this went to completion and everything seems to be as previously programmed but there was an error message saying that the confguration file was corrupted.
Was this because I loaded it from a wireless connection or was the file actually corrupted?

I have a couple of earlier copies of config files I could try, but would have to load them via wireless, which seems to be a bad idea.
What are the methods available within the 4500 to block wired access?

As stated in my original post, this problem arose after shutting down the wired computer overnight - no modifications were made - simply started up not working.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
