I'm in Finland.
I tried disabling WPA protection, but that didn't affect the connection speed.
This seems to be much more complicated than I thought.

Well from what i can tell, I think there is a new FW version out ther for your unit.
DIR-600RevB

If you want, I might go ahead an update using the FW update Sticky process posted in this forum. If your not comfortable, I might all your local DLink support office and ask them directly if this is the correct FW for your unit.

Keep us posted.

I previously tried that individual update (2.10) but it was only compatible with the latest HW: B5 and came up with errors. I tried to search for the currently latest FW for HW: B2 and found the 2.06beta online from this forum. I even tried third party dd-wrt firmware with no luck for higher speed.

This router is still under 24mo warranty, so I could send it over to d-link.

Ok sounds like you have some some work already. I would send it to Dlink and see if they can help you get it going. I would also invest in a new modem, maybe a 655. I'm using my MBP on a 655 right on connecting at 130Mb.

Keep us posted on how it goes. Sorry I couldn't help you any more. Kinda feel this unit is not working right.

I'll contact warranty support and see what they say. Thanks for your help anyway. :)

I will consider DIR-655, if I have to buy a new router.

I have still superfast internet connection (40mbps) regardless of the issue. It just feels kinda stupid and inefficient not to take advantage of the full speed. Not that I'd actually need the extra speed...

I'll keep you posted about how D-link replies, unless I get tired of this altogether and rush to the store to buy a new router.
